We're now on the look out for a new female colleague to join our TeamBordersCS team in Galashiels on a permanent (16 hours per week) basis.
Shift Patterns
Your hours would usually be worked over 1 or 2 days per week and some shifts will include a sleepover. Week days, weekends and public holidays would also be worked on a rotational basis. The sleepover part of your shift isn't included in your contracted hours, so you will also receive an additional £107.60 for each sleepover worked.
Our Team and the Individuals You'll Support
You will become part of a dedicated and supportive team who provide support to two individuals in their own homes who live less than a mile apart. One of the individuals we support is female and loves to socialise, she's very keen to learn and develop new skills and enjoys going to the cinema, the pub, swimming and football. The other person we support is a fun‑loving gentleman who has complex support needs. He enjoys music, riding his bike, swimming and socialising. He's interested in having more presence in his community, so we'll be looking for you to bring some creative ideas to support him to achieve this. Both individuals have their own tenancy, so you'll also find yourself supporting them with all aspects of daily living, including household tasks, meal planning, cooking, prompting or providing personal care and finances.
About You
You don't need experience or qualifications to start your career with us, we're more interested in what you'll bring to the role. We'll pay you for your training and will even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification, PVG costs and yearly SSSC registration fees too! All we'll need you to bring is:
- A caring and compassionate attitude and approach

- Confidence in the water as swimming is a regular activity

Additional Responsibilities and Compliance
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us. Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.
