We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Wireless Solutions Architect with deep expertise in O-RAN, 5G SA (Standalone), virtualised RAN (vRAN), and open RAN (xRAN) frameworks. This role is responsible for architecting and delivering end to end wireless solutions that enable scalable, flexible, and interoperable next generation networks. You will play a critical role in designing, validating, and guiding the deployment of disaggregated and cloud-native RAN systems across diverse deployment scenarios.
Scope- Architect and design advanced wireless network solutions with a focus on Open RAN, 5G Standalone (SA), and virtualised RAN systems.
- Define system architecture for multi-vendor, cloud-native RAN infrastructure, including RU/DU/CU components.
- Evaluate solutions for fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul interfaces, with a particular focus on O-RAN Split 7.2x.
- Lead end-to-end solution design, integration, and validation of vRAN/ xRAN technologies within both private and public 5G deployments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, engineering teams, and external technology partners to align designs with business objectives and industry standards.
- Deliver scalable and secure 5G/ Open RAN solutions that meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
- Provide architecture documentation, design specifications, and technical recommendations to support deployment and operational teams.
- Ensure integration of multi-vendor components is robust, optimised, and interoperable across the full RAN stack.
- Conduct RF planning, system modelling, and performance analysis to optimise coverage, capacity, and quality of service.
- Translate complex technical designs into practical solutions that enable efficient deployment and long-term maintainability.
- Indepth knowledge of wireless network architecture, particularly 5G SA, Open RAN, and vRAN/ xRAN technologies.
- Strong expertise in cloud-native networking, virtualisation, and multi-vendor RAN deployments.
- Proven ability to design and integrate RU/DU/CU components within open and standardised frameworks.
- Proficiency in evaluating fronthaul/ midhaul/ backhaul interfaces, with practical experience in O-RAN Split 7.2x.
- Hands-on skills in RF planning, propagation modelling, and system performance optimisation using industry-standard tools.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and influence design decisions.
- Prior experience in advanced telecoms engineering, wireless systems design, or similar architect-level roles.
- Proven expertise in O-RAN architecture, including SMO, RIC, and O1/ O2/ E2 interfaces.
- Deep knowledge of 5G SA core and RAN architecture (gNodeB, AMF, SMF, UPF components).
- Solid understanding of Massive MIMO, beamforming and dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS).
- Strong grounding in RF principles, propagation models, and coverage/ capacity planning.
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs).
- Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools (Linux, Python, Ansible, Bash).
- Understanding of network slicing, QoS, and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC).
- Awareness of REST APIs and orchestration frameworks (e.g., ONAP, OSM).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to optimise complex network designs.
- Effective stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills, with proven ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
- Strong documentation and architecture definition skills, with the ability to translate designs into actionable delivery plans.
- Hands-on experience with vRAN/ xRAN deployments (preferably across vendors such as Rakuten Symphony, Mavenir, Parallel Wireless, Nokia, or Ericsson).
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale telecom network projects, from design through to deployment and performance optimisation.
