No previous experience? No problem! If you're caring, compassionate and willing to learn, we'll provide all the training and support you need.

You'll become part of a warm, supportive team providing support for four incredible ladies with profound and complex needs in their shared home. This is so much more than a job; it's about building meaningful relationships, celebrating achievements (big & small), supporting independence, creating memorable experiences.

Whether you're supporting one of the ladies to prepare a meal, achieve a personal goal, enjoy a favourite activity, or simply feel heard and understood, you'll play an important part in helping them live a full and valued life. From arts and crafts sessions to days out and even alpaca visits, no two days are ever the same.

The ladies communicate in different ways and will take time to build trust, but the connections you'll form makes this one of the most rewarding roles you could ever have.

Why you’ll love this job:

  • Make a real difference in people's lives every day
  • Build genuine, meaningful relationships
  • Be part of a supportive and welcoming team

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Caring, patient and compassionate
  • Positive, reliable and keen to learn
  • Good communicators who enjoy working as part of a team
  • Organised and confident using basic computer systems
  • A full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial, as the ladies have access to their own mobility vehicles, but this is not essential.

Shift patterns:

We provide support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and typical shifts fall between 0700 and 2200 hours, with sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays worked on a rotational basis. Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and are paid in addition to contracted hours at £107.60 per sleepover. Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus an additional supplement. Shift patterns may vary depending on the needs of the ladies we support and planned activities.

How to prepare for a job interview at Cornerstone

Understanding the Role of Empathy

In social work, understanding and demonstrating empathy is key. Be prepared to share personal experiences or scenarios where you effectively showed compassion and support. This helps show that you genuinely care about the well-being of others, which is crucial in social work.

Demonstrating Knowledge of Frameworks

Familiarise yourself with the frameworks and models used in social work, such as the Strengths-Based Approach or the Ecological Perspective. Be ready to discuss how these frameworks apply to your work, especially if you can tie them into real-world examples or case studies you've encountered.

Showcasing Your Multi-Disciplinary Skills

In a full-time social work role, you'll often collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and law enforcement. Be prepared to describe your teamwork experiences and how you've effectively communicated with other disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Preparing for Scenario-Based Questions

Think through your thought process for these scenarios beforehand, considering how you'd assess the situation and what steps you'd take, as this demonstrates your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
