Flexible Southern SGN Location (Horsham, Portsmouth and Epsom)

£29.9k - £40k per annum (dependent on skills and qualifications)

SGN is seeking a proactive and organised Commercial Assistant to join our Supplier Management team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in commercial and contract management within a regulated and operationally critical industry. The overall purpose of this role is to provide commercial and administrative support across the Supplier Management function, ensuring effective contract administration, accurate commercial records and consistent support to operational and commercial activities.

The role supports Commercial Managers and Lead Commercial Managers in the management of contractor payments, commercial governance, variation tracking, reporting and compliance activities across allocated contracts and regions.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the contractor payment and certification process
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records, trackers and documentation
  • Supporting variation management and commercial governance activities
  • Assisting with reporting, audit and compliance requirements
  • Providing administrative and commercial support across Supplier Management activities
  • Supporting consistency and continuous improvement across commercial processes and ways of working
Qualifications:
  • Organisational, administrative and numeracy skills
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Experience working with financial, commercial, or contract administration processes desirable
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and SharePoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience within utilities, construction, infrastructure or regulated industries
  • Exposure to NEC contracts and/or Construction Act processes
  • Experience supporting commercial, procurement or supplier management functions
