We’re seeking a Biomethane Design and Project Engineer to manage the design and delivery of cost-effective, compliant solutions for Green Gas assets, including design documentation, deployment support, and final safety files.

- Lead and co-ordinate safe, compliant design solutions from concept to delivery.
- Develop and implement innovative designs using CAD, BIM and Autodesk Docs.
- Manage multi-discipline design deliverables and technical specifications.
- Support procurement, installation and commissioning of biomethane projects.
- Liaise with stakeholders and supply chain to assess design options and costs.
- Track project milestones, risks, schedules and quality standards.
- Assist with planning, permitting and stage gate processes.
- Provide on-site support during project phases with awareness of functional safety.
- Compile as-built and handover documentation and health and safety files.
- Travel required for site visits and stakeholder meetings, with occasional stays near project locations.
What you will need
- Degree in civil engineering or similar, with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years in Gas, Water, Petro-Chem or Manufacturing without a degree.
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) preferred but not essential.
- Experience in process engineering and design activities.
- Strong multidisciplinary awareness and ownership of deliverables.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D design tools, document QA approach, MS Office, and collaborative platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Autodesk Docs).
- Clear development goals—Chartership (CEng) aspirations encouraged and also a functional safety practitioner.
- Passion for sustainable energy and the UK’s green transition.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable managing design and project delivery with a focus on safety and quality.
- Self-aware, proactive, and able to influence and resolve challenges effectively.
