About the role

We’re looking for an exceptional Platform Engineer to join Definely during a pivotal stage of growth. Platform Engineers get involved with the whole product infrastructure and tooling, building out novel and scalable solutions for engineers and customers. We’re also responsible for reliability, security and automation.

What you’ll do:

  • Operational work to keep our systems running smoothly.
  • Respond to issues and perform maintenance and upgrades to our systems.
  • Keeping our CI/CD system running well and ensuring safe and simple deployments for our engineers.
  • Build our platform to support product needs (i.e. provisioning databases, enhancing tooling, scaling).
  • Operating our cloud environments (mostly AWS) through IaC and automation.
  • Supporting, and sometimes leading, projects of improvement to our platform.
  • Working collaboratively with other engineers and the wider business.

What you’ll bring:

This is a list of desirable skills, but even if you don’t tick all the boxes please still apply!

  • 1-3 years of hands on platform experience.
  • Knowledge of Cloud tools and services (AWS is our primary cloud).
  • Understanding of DevOps and operational workflows.
  • Building and maintaining cloud services through IaC (we use Terraform).
  • CI/CD practices and tooling.

We’ll be lucky if you:

  • Have experience with security products and tooling, and some DevSecOps experience.
  • Have been on call for incident response.
  • Deep experience with data platforms (databases, queues, caches, storage etc.).
  • ML/AI experience.
