The ICT Consultant supports the delivery of ICT consultancy services within the CornerStone Delivery and Consulting teams. The role provides technical advisory, assurance, and client-facing support across ICT systems in the built environment and critical infrastructure projects. This role operates within a consultancy environment and is responsible for shaping requirements, defining ICT design intent, and assuring technical outcomes.

The ICT Consultant ensures that ICT solutions are aligned with client requirements, industry standards, and CornerStone delivery frameworks. The role works closely with ICT Designers and multi-disciplinary teams to translate client needs into robust design intent and assured outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients on ICT-related matters.
  • Support and lead ICT workshops, meetings, and design reviews.
  • Define ICT design principles, scope, and performance requirements.
  • Review and assure ICT designs produced by ICT Designers or third parties.
  • Identify and escalate ICT-related risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Support bids, proposals, and technical scope development.
Consultant and Designer Interface:
  • Provide clear design briefs, constraints, and technical intent to ICT Designers.
  • Review design outputs prior to issue to ensure alignment with intent and standards.
  • Collaborate with ICT Designers to resolve technical challenges and optimise solutions.
  • Maintain clear separation between consulting accountability and design delivery.
Technical Scope:

The role covers Passive ICT infrastructure, Active ICT systems, and Wireless technologies, including structured cabling, network architecture principles, resilience, performance, and wireless coverage considerations.

Quality and Compliance:

Ensure all work is delivered in line with the CornerStone Business Management System (BMS), relevant ISO standards, and project governance requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned activities.

Role Boundaries:

This role does not include line management responsibility. Technical leadership is exercised through expertise and professional authority.
