CornerStone is an award-winning independent Security and Digital Buildings Consultancy working with enterprise level clients in public and private sectors across multiple regions. We are seeking a skilled and client focused individual to join our commercial team as a Business Development Manager focused on physical security, ICT systems, and smart building technologies. This is a high-impact, client-facing role focused on:
- Winning new consultancy opportunities
- Developing strategic client relationships
- Supporting the growth of key accounts
- Driving new business across the UK and international markets
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be working in demanding and high-profile environments—including data centres, critical infrastructure, commercial developments, and enterprise clients—providing expert, vendor-neutral advice from concept through to delivery. Your role will involve:
- The identification, development, and converting of new business opportunities across Security, ICT and Consultancy services
- Building and managing a strong pipeline aligned to revenue targets
- Leading the full sales lifecycle from lead generation, qualification, proposal to close
- Engaging with senior stakeholders on sales strategies for future growth opportunities
- Collaborating with internal teams to produce high-quality bids, proposals, and presentations
- Growing existing client accounts through cross-selling and repeat business
- Representing the company at industry and marketing events
- Maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting via CRM tools
Who We’re Looking For
- 3 years+ experience in B2B business development or sales environments
- Proven success in either security, ICT, or built environment sectors
- Experience selling into enterprise clients, developers, or critical infrastructure sectors
- Strong commercial mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Ability to sell complex, consultancy-led solutions
- Strong interest in the built environment, security, or digital technology
- Confident engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Desirable
- Experience in physical security systems, ICT or a digital technology
- Exposure to data centre or mission-critical environments
- Experience in the built environment, digital technology, security sectors or consultancy
- Understanding of public and private procurement processes
- Experience of HubSpot or other CRM
