CornerStone is a leading independent Security Risk Consultancy, and we are now looking for an Associate Director to join our award-winning design team in a UK-wide capacity. The person will be highly skilled and motivated to lead and coordinate the design delivery of physical and technical solutions across commercial buildings, public infrastructure, data centres, and enterprise environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring design excellence, technical integrity, and efficient project execution within a multidisciplinary consultancy setting.

The primary tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Line Manage members of the delivery team who focus on the delivery of design services
  • Lead the design process for integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and physical barriers
  • Oversee the development of design documentation including BIM models, CAD drawings, Revit outputs, and technical specifications
  • Ensure designs align with threat assessments, operational requirements, and client security strategies
  • Support and represent the business in its internal and external efforts and overall mission to lead from the front and increase the quality and standards in the security industry
  • Be the owner of or support the delivery of security consultancy services in line with client requirements, regulations, standards, etc. through the delivery of a varied range of projects and/or work packages
  • Manage design inputs across multiple projects, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery
  • Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and external stakeholders to integrate security design with architectural and MEP disciplines
  • Support resource planning and contribute to improving delivery efficiency
  • Prepare and deliver high quality reports across a range of security areas including project budgets, technology studies and analysis of costs and tender information to aid the procurement
  • Understand security risk management methodologies and be able to recommend mitigation measures based on a risk assessment process
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security technologies, standards, and regulatory frameworks
  • Review and approve technical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and best practices
  • Provide technical guidance to junior designers and consultants
  • Participate in client meetings, presenting design concepts and technical solutions
  • Translate client requirements into robust, scalable, and cost-effective security designs
  • Support bid and proposal development with design input and technical narratives
  • Understand, communicate, and design security systems deployments in relation to the necessary data and network architecture required for IP Security systems and integrations

The design manager shall also be capable of:

  • Delivering to a range of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to maintain high quality outputs across a range of areas including resource management, delivery, financial, and other requirements
  • Working closely with all internal teams focusing on efficient project delivery and ensuring effective communication is maintained during the delivery projects
  • Working under pressure and multi-tasking to achieve project and client timelines, satisfying client expectations and have good time and workload management skills
  • Maintaining a very high level of technical understanding of electronic security systems, physical security measures, ICT, IoT and cyber technologies
  • Monitoring and developing technical security experience in products, systems, and standards
  • Global travel as required and appropriate
