As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient operation of commercial gas appliances, boilers and heating systems across a varied portfolio of sites, including secure and highly regulated environments.

You will work independently and collaboratively to deliver exceptional service while ensuring full compliance with Gas Safe regulations, health and safety standards, and contractual service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, inspections and testing of commercial gas systems.
  • Diagnose faults and undertake reactive repair works on commercial heating and gas plant.
  • Install, maintain and repair commercial gas appliances, boilers and associated pipework.
  • Perform tightness testing, commissioning and purging activities within the scope of your qualifications and competencies.
  • Undertake commercial gas pipework purging, including purging over 1 m³ where required, strictly within the scope of current Gas Safe registration and ACS competencies.
  • Complete Gas Safe certification, service reports, risk assessments and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, site teams, subcontractors and colleagues to ensure smooth delivery of works.
  • Use CAFM and mobile working systems to manage work activities and provide detailed job reports.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Current Gas Safe registration and in-date commercial ACS qualifications, including COCN1, CPA1, ICPN1, TPCP1 and CIGA1.
  • Proven post-qualification experience in commercial gas maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on commercial gas and heating systems.
  • Good understanding of RAMS, permit-to-work systems and safe working practices.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience using CAFM systems, mobile working technology and digital reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Experience working within secure or regulated environments.
  • Additional qualifications such as PCP1A, BMP1, CDGA1, CCCN1, G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems or F-Gas.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and coordinating works with other trades.

They would be safety-conscious, calm under pressure and committed to maintaining compliance standards.

They would enjoy solving technical problems, building positive working relationships with clients and continuously improving how work is delivered.

This is a mobile role involving frequent travel between multiple London and North-West London sites, with lone working and work in secure or regulated environments.

The role may also involve working at height, in confined plant areas, manual handling and out-of-hours call-outs as part of the on-call rota.

Due to the nature of some client sites, the successful candidate may be required to complete relevant security vetting and comply with strict access and site procedures.

What We Offer

  • Permanent, full-time employment.
  • The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including details of any company vehicle or van, fuel provision, pension, holiday entitlement, overtime or call-out payments, tools, uniform and additional allowances available.
