About the Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for an experienced and passionate Laundry Assistant to join our award‑winning team at The Burren. The Burren is a brand‑new purpose‑built service location in South Bristol, providing high quality care and supporting residents with varying complex neurological, mental health and dementia care needs in a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualized care, considering the whole person’s unique strengths and challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. What You’ll Bring

  • 12 months previous experience working in a similar environment (essential)
  • Previous experience in a care home (desirable)
  • Ability to work alone as well as in a team and to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and visitors
  • Positive attitude to residents
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

Your Working Pattern

Working Hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm. You'll be scheduled to work 5 days out of 7, which will include weekend shifts as part of a regular rota.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents’ personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen
  • Ensure that all bed, table and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
  • Keep the laundry area clean and separate areas maintained for freshly laundered and soiled articles
  • Segregate and distribute resident’s clothing and linen as requested
  • Comply with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures
  • Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy, specifically in the handling of soiled materials
