About The Role

Are you a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in people’s lives? South Africa Lodge is looking for dedicated individuals with at least one year’s experience within a care home setting to join our exceptional team. Our 99-bed home is made up of six specialised units, each providing high-quality, person-centred care for residents living with complex needs, including dementia, mental health conditions, or other neurological disorders. It’s a vibrant and rewarding place to work, where every day brings the opportunity to make someone’s life that little bit brighter.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 1 year’s experience working in a care home supporting residents with dementia, mental health, elderly or complex care needs within the UK
  • A genuine passion for helping others and promoting dignity and independence
  • Emotional resilience and a steady head in challenging situations
  • Good communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • A positive team-focused attitude
  • A caring, reliable, and positive attitude
  • Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development
  • NVQ Level 2 or working towards it (desirable)

Your Working Pattern

Night shift: 19:45 – 07:45
Average: 38.5 hours per week
Alternate weekends

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are quite the same as a Healthcare Assistant, but your main responsibilities will include:

  • Support all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes, and social activities
  • Promote independence, choice, and dignity in every interaction
  • Observe and report on changes in residents’ health and well-being
