Our client is seeking a Product Development Specialist with experience in cosmetics, skincare, or beauty products (including both chemicals and packaging) as well as materials development. Strong project management skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in global meetings related to project and product development, as well as tenders.
- Brief Global Product Development on projects, including requests for mechanical artwork.
- Review artwork to ensure compliance with regional regulations, obtaining approvals for label printing.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain cost estimates and prepare timelines.
- Review and approve pre-production samples before granting permission for mass production.
- Collaborate closely with various functions on product development projects, including Sales, Global and Regional Product Development, Brand, Design, Marketing, Engineering, Product Quality, Project Management, Procurement, Planning, and Export.
- Initiate requests for new product codes to the data administration team.
- Update internal teams on Cosmetic Product Safety Assessments for any new products developed.
- Evaluate and recommend future requirements for the role and suggest process improvements.
- Communicate with Global R&D to ensure formula compliance and to stay aligned with market trends.
- Oversee quality checks for sustainability packaging and provide professional insights for product development.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to gather formulation documents (INCI, COA, MSDS) for regional registration.
- Travel occasionally to visit exhibitions in EU/UK and factories in Turkey, Greece as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree holders with 3-5 years of experience in Cosmetics, Materials, Chemicals, or a related field.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of managing over 10 projects involving multiple suppliers using project management tools and processes.
- Knowledge of UK and EU Cosmetic Regulations is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for presenting management reports and updates.
- Ability to identify management issues, propose solutions, and make decisions.
- Self-manage workload schedules and establish priorities effectively.
- Capable of liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Attention to detail, motivation, team engagement, and effective time management skills.
