Our amazing #TeamDonohoe are on the lookout for a fun and caring individual who has great banter and loves a good sing along to join them as a Support Practitioner in Bishopbriggs. We are extremely handy for all public transport links, and only 5 minutes from Queen Street Train station if you travel by train. We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We have our own Training Academy that will give you all the skills you'll need; we'll even fund your SVQ/SCQF qualifications and your yearly SSSC fee!

The Role

You will join a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to 4 individuals who have learning disabilities and other complex support needs, including physical disabilities. As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting these individuals with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, personal care, meal preparation, administering medication and the management of personal finances. You will support them to do the things they want to do out in the community and accompany them on any outings, including when attending health appointments. You will take an active role in the planning and delivery of person-centred care and be supportive and encourage the people we support to express their views and wishes. Our aim is to enable the people we support to live a fulfilling and valued life, where they can achieve their own personal goals and aspirations.

To be a great Support Practitioner, we'll need you to have:

Shift Patterns

Our fabulous team provides tailored 2:1 support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and includes early shifts, back shifts, sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays as part of your rota. Early shifts start at 8am, back shifts finish at 10pm, waking nights are 10pm - 8am and sleepovers which are 10am-10pm.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months outwith the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
