The Role and the people you will support

You will be joining a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to 10 individuals within a twenty‑four‑hour housing support service in Bridgeton. The people we support have learning disabilities and other complex health and support needs; we focus on maintaining and promoting independence, and you will work in a person‑centred way across all aspects of daily living, from personal care and cooking to household tasks.

The ladies we support enjoy pampering sessions with nail treatments and massages, as well as lunch outings, shopping, ARC club visits, and weekly writing classes.

The gentlemen enjoy day trips to places like Dundee or Edinburgh, parties and local community events, and spending time out when they’re not exploring.

You don’t need prior care experience or qualifications to start your career with us – we recruit on values and transferable skills. We’ll pay you for your training, you all the practical skills you need, and even fund your SVQ qualification.

Shift Patterns

Our team operates twenty‑four hours a day, seven days a week, on a four‑week rolling rota. You’ll work a mix of longer and shorter day shifts, including sleepovers. Shifts are scheduled between 07:00 and 22:00, and sleepovers are paid separately.

If you’re successful, you must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare for SSSC registration, and register with SSSC within 3 months of starting.
