The Role
You’ll become part of one of our fun, friendly and dedicated teams who provide support to individuals with various support needs within their own homes. There’s never a dull moment, every day is different! As a Support Practitioner you’ll support and assist the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, preparing meals, personal care, administering medication and managing personal finances. We’re also looking for you to be enthusiastic and creative when supporting with their hobbies which include going to the cinema, a game of bowling, trips to the theatre and going to social events with their friends. You will also be supporting people while they attend their volunteer work.
What we’ll need you to bring:
- Good communication skills
- A caring attitude
- A positive approach to learning
- An understanding of the importance of routines and following guidelines
- Confidence in the use of computers
You don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us, we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the skills you’ll need. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and SSSC yearly registration fees too! It would be great if you had a full UK manual driver’s licence with 1 year of experience on the roads but this isn’t a deal breaker.
Shift Patterns
We offer support 7 days a week, usually between 9am-6pm, although there are a few earlier/later supports. You may be supporting more than one person in a day or could have a longer day with one person. Shift length can vary from 4-8 hours and our teams typically work 5 days over 7 including weekends.
