The family of a young man who has Down’s Syndrome is looking for a confident, caring Support Worker to accompany their son to classes at NESCOL. This chatty, friendly young man finds it hard to focus on his own tasks in the classroom, preferring to approach others to help with theirs, which has led to friction in class.

The main task of the Support Worker would be to help the young man focus on the tasks in hand, be that one point of contact for support, encouraging and assisting as required. This young man also has a speech impediment, which can create some frustration, but it would be hoped that someone working day to day would help ease communication difficulties.

If you feel you have the skills necessary to assist this young man in maintaining his college place and working towards independent living, please do get in touch.

PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) will be required for successful applicant.

All training will be provided.
