Our #TeamThorntree is growing, so we\’ve now got a permanent part time (16-20 hours per week) opportunity available in Beith.

The Role

The main purpose of your role will be to support a young man with Autism in his own home with all aspects of their daily living, e.g. shopping, finances, cooking, housework and personal care. We are ideally looking for a driver for this position as the young man is out each day. He enjoys going to play golf and has been enjoying other activities such as the arcade and going out longer walks as well as going to parks within his local community.

About You

You don\’t need experience to join our team, we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We\’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills that you\’ll need. We\’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees!

All we need you to bring is: –

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns
The service runs as a sleepover service you will start your shift at 10am and finish at 2pm the next day (Monday – Friday) and 10am to 10am the next day (Saturday and Sunday). The team are very experienced and have worked with the person we support for a number of years so the support while you settle in will be there!

We provide dedicated around the clock support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so our shift patterns do involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and sleepovers.

Please note – If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you\’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us. If you are successful we will need you to meet the requirements on the person we supports insurance policy for use of their mobility car.
