We are looking for a female carer to support an elderly lady in her home for 20 hours per week, helping to maintain her independence and safety following a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s.
Duties include prompting with medication, supporting at mealtimes, bedtime assistance and aspects of personal care such as support with wigs and maintaining general hygiene.
While the ladies husband currently supports with personal care routines such as washing and dressing in the morning, this may become a part of the role once a trusting relationship has been built.
A high level of patience, empathy and understanding would be valuable in encouraging positive responses and helping to build a strong, supportive relationship.
Set shifts will be important to maintain a consistent routine. To support the development of a positive and trusting relationship, shifts will initially be introduced on a gradual basis, with hours increasing over a number of weeks until the full shift pattern is established.
Monday 18:00 to 22:00
Tuesday 10:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 22:00
Wednesday 10:00 to 14:00
Thursday 10:00 to 14:00
PVG Membership will be required
All training required will be provided
Due to the rurality of the house, a driver would be essential
