Are you an experienced health and social care worker who is looking for a new part‑time or full‑time role? We have just the opportunity for you!

We’re now looking for two new colleagues to join our amazing TeamBaxterView as Complex Care Practitioners on a permanent basis between 16 and 39 hours per week. Relief opportunities are also available for those seeking a bit more flexibility.

Our Team and the Individuals You’ll Support

You’ll become part of a friendly, dedicated team who provide support to eight individuals with varying complex care needs living in their own flats. In addition to working directly with individuals, you’ll partner with a multi‑disciplinary team and the individuals’ families and guardians to ensure each person has a robust, outcome‑focused support plan. You’ll help individuals manage their homes, increase and maintain independence, and support their social, health and wellbeing needs.

All clients have different hobbies and interests, so you’ll need to bring creativity and enthusiasm to support them accessing leisure activities, engaging in meaningful activities and taking part in hobbies and interests that matter to them, both at home and in their local communities.

About You

We’re looking for people who bring experience of providing care and support within the Health & Social Care sector, have the ability to lone work, and have confidence to manage behaviours that can challenge. You will also need a commitment to study for and achieve an SVQ (SCQF level 7) and to complete training and further qualifications identified as essential for our service. We will fund and support your training and qualifications, and reimburse your yearly SSSC registration and PVG fees.

Qualifications

  • Experience of providing care and support to adults with learning disabilities and/or working in a forensic service
  • Solid understanding of professional boundaries, accountabilities and responsibilities
  • Passion for delivering excellent person‑led care and support
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening and written)
  • Numeracy skills to ensure accurate records are kept
  • Ability and confidence to deal with challenging behaviours
  • Caring and professional attitude and approach
  • Positive approach to learning
  • Confidence in the use of computers
  • A full, clean driving licence (desirable but not a deal‑breaker)

Shift Patterns

Typical shift patterns fall between 08:00 and 22:00 hours, but may vary to accommodate clients’ events. Weekends, public holidays and overnight shifts are part of the rota on a rotational basis. We value work‑life balance and offer flexibility where possible.

Other Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government or police authority as part of pre‑employment checks. Upon joining, you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.
