As a Senior Buyer, you will support the scoping, sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and supplier management activities required to realize best value from third-party spend on goods and services, while managing risk appropriately, with a particular focus on Contract Renewals for Professional Services. The Senior Buyer will have a broad exposure to the end-to-end Sourcing to Contract process for goods and services required by various departments to help them deliver their strategic objectives, including the scoping of business requirements, supporting and implementation of sourcing events and value generation strategies, and the management of contract negotiations. Requirements Support and contribute actively to health and safety, environmental, business continuity, and information security arrangements that meet our obligations to our customers. Plan and execute company sourcing events (RFI, RFP) for both formal tenders and ad-hoc activities for low-value activities. Lead internal/external communications aimed at developing and engaging with the supply base to improve performance. Support the on-boarding process (including NDA & PQQ) ensuring appropriate assessment of supplier risk & compliance in respect of anti-bribery laws, HSQE. Support the provision of supplier performance metrics. Aid and support management decisions on Supplier selection and retention. Negotiate both new and renewal commercial contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure the service, quality, added value, total cost of ownership, security of supply, and supplier’s deployment are secured, and risks and issues are mitigated. Maintain and manage the supplier contract renewal register list for low-value professional service relationships on existing contracts. Support the business regarding the Purchase Order process and supporting payment of invoices. Manage and run the RFX processes from inception through to continuation into contract management ensuring the processes have been carried out diligently and rigorously. Execute contracts in line with delegated authority and conduct potentially contentious or difficult debriefs with unsuccessful suppliers. Report and track all proposed and active initiatives and when services and agreements need to be renewed – including financial benefits and all risks & issues. Experience Required Previous experience in dealing with internal stakeholders and external organizations. Previous experience in implementing policies and processes. Strong experience in a Procurement and/or Supplier Management environment. Experience in supporting and delivering RFx processes and events from commencement to completion. Previous experience with document management. Good standard of general education, including GCSE Maths and English or equivalent. Good standard of written English: A good standard of general education, to ‘A’ level or equivalent. CIPS qualification (or working towards) desirable. Good demonstrable working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel. Thorough and methodical approach with a keen eye for detail is essential. Knowledge of supply chain structures and operations.
