Investment Partner – UK Lower Mid-Market Private Equity Fund

The Firm: Cornell Search are working with a UK Lower Mid-Market Private Equity Fund. The founding partners of this fund set it up to exploit a gap that historically hasn’t been well serviced by PE in the UK. Their strategy has been to work with ambitious management teams who wish to change the existing ownership structure of their current company and provide follow on funding for further acquisitions. A typical cheque size is between £3 – 10 million for UK based profitable companies. Their last fund closed at 140% over target, with their existing portfolio tracking above market returns. Their plan is to start fundraising towards the back end of next year, staying within their current investment strategy and as such, have a need to hire a Partner to complement and add to the existing team. The Opportunity: Our client is looking for an Investment Partner. We anticipate that the ideal profile will be of someone with the following background: An experienced investor with a track record of successful investments A good understanding of the UK landscape at this investment level Be comfortable at originating and running deals Have an awareness of what it’s like to work in a small but driven fund
