Cornell Search are working with a leading Private Equity firm that invests in small entrepreneurial businesses with significant growth potential throughout the UK. With a strong track record of supporting management teams through growth capital and buyout investments, the firm is known for its ability to identify and back high-growth businesses.
The Opportunity:
Cornell are seeking an ambitious, experienced investment professional to join our client’s growing investment team. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investment opportunities in the UK, supporting the firm’s mission to drive growth and create value in their portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and source potential investment opportunities through market research, networking, and direct outreach.
- Assist in the structuring and negotiation of investment deals.
- Work closely with legal and financial advisors to ensure smooth transaction execution.
- Support portfolio companies in achieving their growth objectives through strategic and operational guidance.
- Assist in the preparation of board materials and participate in board meetings as required.
- Conduct market and industry research to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and potential investment sectors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or a related finance role. Experience in the UK lower mid-market is a strong advantage.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical, and valuation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
