The Firm
Cornell Search is working with a growing, ambitious Venture Capital fund active across various tech sectors, including B2B software and fintech. The fund empowers visionary entrepreneurs at the forefront of successful early to growth-stage companies across Europe and the US.
Position Overview
They are looking for an ambitious, confident person who will play a pivotal role in proactively developing, strengthening and nurturing relationships with existing and potential investors in the main asset allocation markets across the world. You will be the key point of contact between them and their growing investor base, responsible for maintaining open lines of communication, managing the relationship, providing timely updates, and delivering exceptional service. The role will be based in their London office and will report into the General Partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate, cultivate, and maintain relationships with investors, ensuring their needs, concerns, and questions are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Assist in research on target LPs, consultants, and other sources of developing prospective investors who will share our passion for growth and disruption.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of investment materials, performance reports, and market insights to investors.
- Collaborate with the investment team and the operations team to understand the portfolio companies, their progress, and the broader market trends to communicate effectively with investors.
- Contribute to the creation of compelling marketing materials, newsletters, and communication strategies to attract new investors.
- Conduct market research and analysis to provide valuable insights that support investor relations efforts.
- Conduct competition analysis and collaborate with communications team on PR.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including finance, legal, and compliance, to ensure accurate and compliant investor communications.
- Actively engage with investor inquiries, addressing concerns and providing accurate information to maintain investor confidence.
- Assist with management of firm’s VDR, DDQ, RFPs and other collateral as needed on the firm and its products.
- Participate in investor meetings. Keep up-to-date records of all investor interactions and communications within the CRM system.
Qualifications and Skills:
- MBA or advanced degree with exceptional academic performance.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in investor relations ideally from, venture capital, private equity, hedge fund or asset management. This experience could be in house or as part of a reputable placement agent.
- Strong understanding of venture capital, start-ups, and the investment landscape.
- Proficiency in English is a must.
- Be a natural networker. Have excellent interpersonal, investor development, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to draft clear, concise, and engaging investor focused materials.
- Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
