  • Full‐time, permanent role
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the London office per week

Role Overview

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of IT services across the organisation. This role focuses on operational excellence, compliance, and service reliability rather than strategic transformation. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to coordinate both internal IT teams and external vendors to maintain high service standards.

Your Day‐to‐Day

  • Manage and maintain the organisation's Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring availability, security, and performance.
  • Oversee patching, updates, and lifecycle management for cloud services and endpoints.
  • Implement and maintain operational procedures, including backup, disaster recovery, and change management.
  • Manage procurement, deployment, and retirement of IT hardware for office and remote users.
  • Maintain accurate device inventory records and ensure timely replacements and upgrades.
  • Act as escalation point for operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
  • Liaise with Microsoft, hardware suppliers, and managed service providers for support and operational services.
  • Track and report on cloud service health, device compliance, and operational KPIs.
  • Lead, support, and guide technical staff responsible for day‐to‐day operations.
  • Assist the IT Director with operational cost management and budget tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records of configurations, processes, and operational standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Intune administration.
  • Experience in IT operations or service delivery within a cloud‐first organisation.
  • Proven experience managing hardware lifecycle and endpoint security.
  • Excellent organisational and problem‐solving skills.
  • Ability to manage vendors and ensure compliance with operational standards.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant IT discipline.
  • ITIL certification or experience with IT service management frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience with Office 365, Azure AD, and Intune.
