Purpose of the Role

The DA4 Coach (Data Analyst) exists to help learners develop the technical capability, judgement, and confidence to turn data into insight and action. In this role, you will coach, mentor, and teach learners on Corndel’s Level 4 Data Analyst programme, supporting them to move beyond descriptive reporting to deeper analysis, interpretation, and decision making. You will help learners understand not just how to analyse data, but why it matters, how to communicate insight responsibly, and how to apply sound professional judgement in real organisational contexts. You will combine strong analytical expertise with a coaching mindset — empowering learners to take ownership of their development and apply data ethically and effectively in their roles.

Core Responsibilities

  • Learner Coaching & Development
    • Manage a caseload of learners, building trusted relationships through high quality coaching, mentoring, and structured teaching.
    • Deliver engaging one to one sessions and workshops that make analytical concepts accessible, relevant, and practical.
    • Empower learners to think critically about data, challenge assumptions, and reflect on the implications of their analysis.
    • Create an inclusive, psychologically safe learning environment where learners feel confident asking questions, testing ideas, and learning from mistakes.
  • Data Analysis & Insight
    • Support learners to develop core analytical skills, including data preparation, querying, analysis, modelling, and visualisation.
    • Coach learners to use tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, and related platforms to generate meaningful insights.
    • Help learners interpret and communicate analysis clearly, linking insight to business questions and decisions.
    • Model integrity and professional judgement in how data is analysed, interpreted, and presented, including awareness of data quality, bias, and ethical considerations.
  • Progress, Quality & Outcomes
    • Guide learners through programme milestones, assessments, and portfolio development, ensuring consistent progress and timely completion.
    • Support learners to produce high quality, compliant evidence that genuinely reflects their analytical capability and workplace impact.
    • Engage constructively with learners’ line managers to align learning with organisational priorities and projects.
    • Take ownership for quality and compliance, balancing learner support with high standards and clear expectations.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Operations, Product, and Curriculum to deliver a consistent and high-quality learner experience.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery approaches, learner engagement, and outcomes.
    • Stay curious and committed to continuous development, keeping up to date with analytical tools, techniques, and best practice.

  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data.
  • Familiarity with predictive or statistical modelling concepts.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, teaching, or facilitating learning in a professional environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts clearly to learners with varied confidence levels.
  • Experience using Python and Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Power Query.

Desirable

  • Digital engagement tools including Miro, Whiteboard.
  • Google Suite Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, Looker and BIGQUERY.
  • Alteryx user.
  • Experience supporting learners in apprenticeship or vocational learning contexts.

  • Maintain high standards of quality, professionalism, and learner care.

At its best, this role creates impact beyond individual learners:

  • Learners describe your support as pivotal in developing their confidence and analytical judgement.
  • You help learners move from reporting data to influencing decisions and action.
  • You challenge learners constructively, improving the quality of their thinking rather than just their outputs.
  • You spot patterns across cohorts and proactively improve learner experience and outcomes.
