Cormac are looking to recruit for a Measurement Technician. The role will comprise of measuring and quantifying the work completed by Cormac and subcontractors working on highway resurfacing and maintenance. You will also be required to assist with the measurement of other contract work, the preparation of final accounts, small work estimates, monthly CVR procedures and dealing with the day to day issues associated with job costing.
Some of the main duties will include:
- Assisting in the pre-measurement of work and the production of works estimates for work carried out under the Term Contract.
- Producing purchase orders within the WDM system as required and inform Clients as to the effect on their budgets as a consequence.
- Producing and checking financial reports to ensure that all claims and invoices have been processed and to check the labour, plant and materials have been allocated correctly to the job.
- Carrying out investigations for specific schemes or types of work and report on anomalies as requested.
- The completion of transfer journals to ensure that the cost and income are reported accurately on the contract ledger.
- Assessing and quantifying actual works carried out on site, checking that the quality of works carried out meets the standards specified, identifying variations in both quality and quantity from the work ordered, and providing this information to the client for monitoring purposes.
- Supporting Managers and staff by proactively monitoring the general efficiency of operations, and, where appropriate, putting forward ideas for improvement for the overall benefit of Cormac.
- Ensuring that statutory requirements are met in accordance with standard procedures.
About you
The following criteria are essential to this role:
- Minimum English and Maths GCSE at Grade 4 or above;
- An understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.
- An understanding of highway and environment-related legislation, policy and procedures.
- A full valid driving licence.
