About Us
Cormac Arboriculture Services provides a comprehensive, end-to-end tree management service across Cornwall. Our professional teams deliver expert tree surgery, extensive planting programmes, and ongoing stewardship of a wide variety of species across diverse landscapes—from country parks and towns to rural villages. No two days are the same for our dedicated teams of tree surgeons, removing windblown trees from Highways to restorative pruning to maintain tree health. We truly have the Environment at the heart of all we do and wherever practical use battery equipment, biofuels and ethanol free fossil fuels and modern equipment and machinery in our operations.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Tree Surgeon to take on a Team Leader role as a Climbing Arborist Chargehand, working closely with the Arboriculture Working Foreperson within our Environment Operations Team. This is a senior, hands-on role combining leading and mentoring Arboriculture teams, maintaining high standards on site, whilst adhering to industry best practice and legislation. If you’re passionate about arboriculture and want to join a team of progressive arborists, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
What You’ll Do
- Lead arborist teams across varied sites
- Surveying and estimating activities
- Coordinate tree works and ensure high standards of safety and quality
- Mentor junior staff and support their development
- Contribute to tree planting, conservation, and habitat enhancement projects

Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant NPTC units (30, 31, 38, 39, 40, 41)
- Professional Tree Inspection Level 3
- Arboricultural Association membership
- LGV or C1 +E category licence
- MEWP training, IPAF 1B and 3B or equivalent
- Utility Arboriculture Training UA1
