Join Our Team at Corserv Care as a Support Worker (STEPS Reablement Service).

Salary: £25,947.47pa pro rata, (£13.45 per hour), mileage 45p per mile and paid travel-time. Guaranteed permanent weekly hours.

Working Hours: 35 Hours per week, to be discussed at interview. All rounds start at 8:00 until 13:00, the evening rounds start at 16:00 and finish at the latest 21:00 and working every other weekend is mandatory.

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: We have some new opportunities in the WEST areas of Cornwall, including but not exclusive to the Helston, Penzance and Falmouth areas.

Base: WEST Cornwall team office, Scorrier.

Role Purpose: This is an essential role supporting people in Cornwall with Reablement Care, to enable individuals to return to or remain in their homes and to be as safe and independent as possible.

What you'll be doing: The role of the Support Worker is critical to the success of an individual in meeting their agreed outcomes. This will involve working with other professionals, team members, or working alone to carry out the care/reablement plan with the individual, promoting flexibility, dignity, respect, wellbeing, confidence and independence, so that the person has the best quality of life. You will offer safe and appropriate support to each individual in a person-centred way, complying with and maintaining best practice in relation to Health & safety matters, which will include basic risk assessments and the prevention and control of infection. Using an innovative approach to positively support customers to achieve as much independence as they are able to. Your job will be to maintain accurate and factual records as a legal requirement in order to evidence and communicate actions and outcomes effectively to others, maintaining safe working practices as a lone worker or doubled handed working, to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of service users, self and others. Monitoring the health, wellbeing and progress of service users and report any concerns/changes back to management in order to protect and safeguard vulnerable adults. You will ensure a positive and flexible approach to the variety of tasks within the role, including supporting service users with their daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation, medication support and exercises. Working with families, healthcare professionals and occupational therapists and supporting service users to access community opportunities. You will operate in accordance with the diverse needs of the community to ensure equal access to services and be responsible for your continuous development and to undertake relevant training as required.

  • Guaranteed Payment: £13.45 per hour. You are always paid for a full shift, even in the event of a client cancellation.
  • Guaranteed Paid Travel Time & Mileage: 45p per mile. This includes travel, and contact time, for a consistent and worry-free salary. Plus, after probation period of 6 months, you could join our ‘Car Lease Scheme’.
  • Paid DBS: Corserv Care will pay for your Enhanced DBS.
  • Bank Worker: opportunities for permanent employees to work in other care services across the organisation, doing additional ad hoc hours on a zero hours contract. A great way to develop your skills and experience.
  • Hours: 35 per week, to be discussed at interview.
  • Guaranteed Two Week Set Working Pattern: You will have a Week 1 and Week 2 rolling rota to help promote a healthy work-life balance, and for ease of mind.
  • Locations: We are hiring for our teams across Cornwall: You will join the closest CORNWALL team and base to where you live. Some service users will be in close proximity to your home location and some you will need to travel to.
  • Full training and continuous development provided: Company Induction may include training for the Care Certificate, Moving and Handling, and Basic Life Support. Elearning will cover some mandatory training, as well as TMobile and care plan training. There is job shadowing, and team and office support available. Management 1 to 1’s and supervision, and annual appraisals. There could also be the opportunity to achieve qualifications such as Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care and career pathways within the organisation.
  • Equipment: A full uniform, full PPE provided, work SMART phone, Lone working device.
