The Estates Adoption Team are looking for people to join our team. We look after the adoption of new roads, footways and drainage for Cornwall Council across the whole of the county and we need people to be our representatives on site.
About the role
Working with the Adoption Engineers, you will be responsible for checking that developers are building their roads and footways in accordance with the Council’s details and the approved drawings. A typical week will include:
- Visiting sites in your area and talking to the developers and their contractors.
- Inspecting their works and checking materials being used.
- Recording your findings.
- Reviewing test results.
- Identifying any problems and agreeing solutions with the Adoption Engineers and developers.
About you
We are looking for you to bring:
- Experience in road construction on site would be preferred but we will consider applications from people with an interest in this and a willingness to learn.
- You will need to be based in Cornwall. A van will be provided for this role.
