We are looking for an Associate Project Manager to lead Project Management associated with £12M Consultancy Projects. This involves representing the business working with the Consultancy Teams (Highways and Civils, Transportation, Structures, Geotech) staff, Cormac Business Directors, Capital Projects Team, Cornwall Council Client Managers, External Consultants, Contractors and Statutory Undertakers, Elected bodies and the public. The role has significant impact on Services Provision and Organisational reputation.

The role of Associate Project Manager will include:

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of project management to ensure successful project delivery including:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain project management processes.
    • Manage and oversee a complex and varied annual programme.
    • Monitor and manage project costs and financial performance.
    • Prepare annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly performance reports.
    • Coordinate stakeholder engagement with members of the public, elected councillors, council officers, local businesses, and community groups.
    • Organise, chair, and record ECI meetings.
    • Oversee performance management activities.
    • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets, programmes, and client expectations.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
    • Liaise directly with Elected Members, external organisations, and the public.
    • Prepare formal reports, briefing papers, and committee documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with business management systems, including quality assurance, health & safety, environmental, and training requirements.
    • Maintain awareness of and compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and procedures.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

About you:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM).
  • NEC3 / NEC4 ECC Project Management qualified.
  • Demonstrated experience managing skilled technical teams.
  • Strong project management capability with experience overseeing project delivery, programme progress, and financial performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commercially and financially aware.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
