ABOUT THE ROLE

The Shift Engineer Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shift engineering team, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and function optimally. This role includes managing the 24‑hour coverage by shift engineering team, coordinating maintenance activities, conducting inspections, providing training and standard operating procedures where required, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. The Engineering Supervisor works closely with the Chief Engineer to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by ensuring the hotel's infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

ABOUT YOU

  • A minimum of 1‑3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the engineering or facilities management field, preferably in a hospitality environment.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and overseeing maintenance operations for hotel systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or high‑end facilities is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with all hotel departments, guests, and external contractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in safety and engineering are advantageous (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC certification).
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
