ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Sommelier at Kerridge’s Bar & Grill is responsible for managing all aspects of wine service, working alongside the Sommelier team to ensure that the wine program is continuously evolving and remains aligned with the restaurant’s ethos. This role requires a deep understanding of wine, exceptional guest service skills, and leadership abilities, as the Senior Sommelier will oversee the wine service team and provide guidance to junior sommeliers and waitstaff. The Senior Sommelier will play a key role in enhancing the guest experience, assisting with the wine list development, and ensuring the smooth operation of wine service throughout service hours.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in a wine waiter/sommelier role preferably within a 5 star hotel or a rosette restaurant
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong desire to learn and develop a career within luxury hospitality
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Flexibility to work varied hours
  • Takes pride in own professional grooming
  • Ability and resilience to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Pride and attention to detail in your work
  • Confidence & professionalism when interacting with high profile guests
  • WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Level 3 or higher qualification, or similar wine certifications
  • Experience with wine procurement, inventory management, and supplier relations
  • Knowledge of food and beverage pairing, with the ability to guide guests through an exceptional dining experience
