About The Role

The Senior Head Chef is a key senior position in the kitchen responsible for overseeing all kitchen activity, acting as the direct support to the Executive Chef and overseeing the overall day‑to‑day operation of the kitchen. This role ensures consistency, efficiency and excellence across all services while maintaining exceptional culinary standards and driving operational efficiency across all kitchen sections. The Senior Head Chef combines strong technical expertise with advanced leadership and organisational ability, taking ownership of service standards, team performance, stock control and operational planning. The role requires the ability to make confident decisions under pressure while ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP and COSHH Regulations. It also involves supporting junior team members, ensuring tasks are completed to standard and contributing to smooth and coordinated service.

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar role or senior supervisory roles within luxury hospitality or high‑volume operations
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Advanced technical cooking ability with strong understanding of classical and modern culinary techniques
  • Experience managing high‑pressure service operations while maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency
  • Strong operational knowledge of kitchen workflow, staffing coordination, production planning, and service management
  • Proven experience in stock control, ordering, supplier liaison, inventory management, and food cost control
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and COSHH compliance
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire to learn and develop a career within luxury hospitality
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Flexibility to work varied hours
  • Takes pride in own professional grooming
  • Ability and resilience to work under pressure and in a fast‑paced environment
  • Pride and attention to detail in your work

  • Food Safety level 2 / Food Hygiene certification desirable
