The French Polisher is responsible for maintaining the hotel's wooden furniture, fixtures, and surfaces, ensuring they are polished and restored to their highest standard.
This role requires a highly skilled individual with knowledge of traditional French polishing techniques, as well as modern finishing processes, to preserve the aesthetic integrity of high-end hotel furniture.
This role plays a key role in maintaining the hotel’s luxury standards, providing the necessary expertise to restore and maintain wood surfaces to their finest quality, contributing to guest satisfaction and the overall aesthetic of the hotel.
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience as a French Polisher, Furniture Finisher, or in a similar specialist wood finishing role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of traditional and modern French polishing techniques, wood restoration, staining, waxing, lacquering, and finishing methods
- Experience working with luxury furniture, wood panelling, decorative surfaces, and bespoke interior finishes
- Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including sanding, stripping, repairing, and refinishing wood surfaces
- Ability to match colours, finishes, and textures to maintain consistency with existing furniture and fixtures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A strong desire to learn and develop a career within luxury hospitality
- Good level of written and spoken English
