ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Rooms is responsible for leading all Rooms Division operations, including Front Office, Guest Relations, Butler Service, Concierge, and Housekeeping, ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences at all times. Working closely with the Executive Housekeeper and Executive Team, this role drives the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous enhancement of the hotel's Rooms offering in line with the luxury standards and reputation of Corinthia London. Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Director of Rooms is accountable for achieving departmental goals and financial targets through effective leadership, operational efficiency, and guest-focused service delivery. This includes maximising RevPAR, occupancy, and average room rate while ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and personalised service across all guest touchpoints.

The role oversees all relevant Front of House and Housekeeping departments, leading and developing high-performing teams, driving engagement and training initiatives, and ensuring all guest expectations are consistently exceeded. The Director of Rooms also takes a leading role in strategic projects, operational improvements, and the implementation of Rooms Division policies and procedures to support the hotel's overall business objectives and long term vision.

You are an experienced and inspiring hospitality leader with a strong background in luxury Rooms Division operations within five-star hotels or internationally recognised hospitality brands. Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, you combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership and thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Significant senior leadership experience within Rooms Division operations in a luxury hotel environment, ideally in a Director of Rooms or senior Rooms leadership role.
  • Proven experience overseeing Front Office, Concierge, Guest Relations, Butler Service, and Housekeeping functions within a high-volume luxury property.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in driving RevPAR, occupancy, ADR, guest satisfaction, and departmental profitability.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing departmental budgets, forecasting, payroll, and operational expenses effectively.
  • Strong understanding of luxury guest expectations and personalised service delivery.
  • Excellent operational knowledge of hotel systems, procedures, and Rooms Division best practices.
  • Ability to lead change, drive operational improvements, and implement service excellence initiatives.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Calm, professional, and solution-oriented approach with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and quality assurance standards within luxury hospitality operations.
  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Additional leadership or luxury hospitality certifications would be advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and Rooms Division analytics.
