At Corin, we are passionate about improving patient outcomes through innovative orthopaedic solutions. We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of materials and products supplied across our global supply chain. This is an exciting opportunity for a quality professional who thrives on solving complex supplier challenges, driving continuous improvement, and influencing supplier performance within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will ensure that products and materials supplied to Corin meet manufacturing specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will lead supplier quality improvement initiatives, investigate significant quality issues, and support the qualification and development of suppliers to enable business growth and operational excellence. In addition, you will provide technical leadership and mentoring to colleagues within the Supplier Quality team, helping to strengthen quality expertise across the organisation.

What you’ll do

  • Lead supplier quality improvement activities, working directly with suppliers to reduce defects and eliminate recurring quality issues.
  • Drive investigations into significant supplier non-conformances, reviewing root cause analyses and corrective actions to ensure effective and sustainable resolutions.
  • Analyse supplier performance and inspection data to identify trends and support risk-based decisions regarding supplier controls and incoming inspection requirements.
  • Plan and conduct supplier audits and support the development and implementation of supplier improvement plans.
  • Support the qualification, approval, and ongoing management of new suppliers and significant changes to existing suppliers.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure product and process requirements are translated into effective supplier controls and inspection requirements.
  • Support new product introductions and supplier transfer activities, ensuring supplier capability and quality controls are established prior to routine production.
  • Provide coaching, technical guidance, and support to Supplier Quality Engineers and wider Quality team members.
  • Support supplier-related CAPA activities and Change Control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Corin's Quality Management System, ISO 13485 requirements, and all applicable regulatory standards.

About You

We are looking for an experienced quality professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence suppliers and stakeholders effectively.

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment, ideally within the medical device sector.
  • Strong background in Supplier Quality Engineering, supplier development, and supplier qualification activities.
  • Experience leading supplier audits, complex quality investigations, and supplier improvement programmes.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 13485 and medical device quality management system requirements.
  • Strong practical understanding of:
    • Root cause investigation methodologies
    • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
    • Risk management principles
    • Quality engineering tools and techniques
  • Ability to independently lead supplier quality activities and make sound quality decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support less experienced engineers.
