With over 500 employees, we're committed to quality, precision and improving patient outcomes worldwide. Due to continued growth, we're expanding our Quality Inspection team and are looking for experienced Quality Inspectors to join our Goods Inwards Inspection team. This role is ideal for quality professionals with experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, particularly within Goods Inwards Inspection. However, experience in Final Inspection, Device History Record (DHR) review, and other quality inspection disciplines is also highly valued.
We are seeking individuals with a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawings and specifications, along with proven experience using a wide range of inspection and metrology equipment, gauges, and measuring instruments. You'll play a key role in ensuring incoming materials and components meet specification requirements, supporting product conformity, and maintaining the high standards expected within the medical device industry.
You'll be responsible for:
- Inspecting incoming materials, components, instruments, semi-finished and finished products.
- Interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Performing dimensional inspections using a range of metrology equipment and gauges.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality function.
Shift Patterns: Double Days β a two-week rotation consisting of one week of early shifts followed by one week of late shifts. Earlies - 5.30 - 14:00 Monday to Thursday, 5.30 β 11:00 on Friday. Lates - 13:45pm - 22.15 Monday to Thursday, 10:45am - 16:15pm on Friday OR Nights - 22:00 β 5:45 Monday to Thursday, 16:00 β 20:50 on Friday.
As an Experienced Quality Inspector, you will:
- Inspect raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products against approved specifications.
- Conduct Goods Inwards Inspection, Final Inspection, and Device History Record (DHR) review activities.
- Support product release and shipment completion activities.
- Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings to verify product conformity.
- Apply knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T) during inspection activities.
- Use a range of gauges, measuring equipment, and metrology tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Operate inspection equipment such as CMMs, Keyence systems, shadowgraphs, callipers, micrometres, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Identify, investigate, and disposition non-conforming products.
- Maintain accurate quality records and ensure compliance with Good Documentation Practice (GDocP).
- Record inspection data and quality information within company systems.
- Support calibration activities and ensure inspection equipment remains fit for use.
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve quality issues and support product release activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a "right first time" culture.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 13485, GMP, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members where required.
The ideal Experienced Quality Inspector will have/be:
- Previous Quality Inspection experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive or precision engineering.
- Proven experience in Goods Inwards Inspection, Final Inspection and DHR review/product release activities.
- Experience inspecting semi-finished and finished products against technical specifications.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience using a variety of gauges and precision measurement equipment, including callipers, micrometres, height gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges and similar inspection tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a highly accurate, methodical approach.
- The ability to interpret specifications and make informed decisions regarding product conformity.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A positive attitude and commitment to delivering the highest quality standards.
