We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Production Engineer to join our Engineering team on a full-time permanent basis in Cirencester. As a Manufacturing Production Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert on all CNC machines, systems, processes, and procedures within the manufacturing area. Your primary responsibilities will include training and developing Manufacturing Machinists and Associates, ensuring all machines (CNC, Laser Maker, Robot, etc.) are safe and efficient to produce the desired quantities of products at the specified quality. You will work closely with the Production and Process Engineers as well as the maintenance team, escalating technical issues and suggesting solutions in line with SQDIP.

The key responsibilities of a Manufacturing Production Engineer are to:

  • Conduct CNC program fault finding and resolution whilst optimising machine setup programs with Engineers.
  • Set and operate CNC processes proficiently, being verified and signed off as competent.
  • Address manufacturing documentation issues (Process and Inspection Sheets).
  • Manage non-conformities through Rework, Scrap, or Concession processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through Kaizen and 5S initiatives.
  • Communicate and resolve issues promptly to maintain plan adherence.
  • Report equipment failures and suggest resolutions.
  • Analyse processes to propose and implement improvements, reducing lead time and cost while improving utilisation and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate production costs by managing tooling and consumables usage.
  • Highlight and address bottlenecks to ensure shop floor process flow.
  • Report consumable issues to support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Train and support new and developing team members on machines, systems, and processes.
  • Adhere to Corin’s Health and Safety procedures and legislative requirements, including COSHH and manual handling.
  • Challenge and correct unsafe practices in accordance with legislation/Corin Policies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping and report and escalate risks immediately via the appropriate systems.

The ideal Manufacturing Production Engineer will have/be:

  • Solid knowledge of the CNC Machines, and the ability to set, program and operate them.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of CMM and manual inspection techniques.
  • Be methodical and organized with strong project and time management skills.
  • Possesses PC literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft products.
  • Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, professional, approachable, and with a sense of urgency.
  • Have time-served experience post-engineering qualification (degree, HND, T-Level, etc.).
