Due to continued growth, we're looking for an Instrument and Sample Assistantto join our Supply Chain Instruments team.

This is a varied operational role where you'll be responsible for raising work orders, picking and packing individual instruments and samples, building sample kits and supporting instrument kit build activities.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in a warehouse, production, logistics or manufacturing environment who enjoys working in a fast-paced setting.

You'll play a key role in ensuring instruments and samples are processed accurately and efficiently, helping to support our customers and wider business operations.

As an Instrument and Sample Assistant, you will

  • Raise and manage work orders for instrument, sample and refurbishment activities.
  • Pick, pack and process individual instruments and samples in line with operational requirements.
  • Build sample kits and ensure work orders are completed according to demand.
  • Monitor sample requirements and stock levels to ensure availability.
  • Process, allocate and track instruments and samples within internal systems.
  • Support the Kit Build team with functional checks and other operational activities when required.
  • Assist the Team Leader with administrative tasks, including raising work orders and running reports.
  • Generate and maintain reports to support workload planning and process efficiency.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely completion of sample and refurbishment requests.
  • Maintain accurate records and transactions within Sage, Mestec and other internal systems.
  • Support stock control activities and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Identify and elevate shortages, delays or process issues that could impact operational targets.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures, quality standards and housekeeping requirements.

The ideal Instrument and Sample Assistantwill have/be

  • A good standard of education, ideally including GCSE Maths and English.
  • Experience within a warehouse, logistics, production, manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Experience handling, assembling, picking, packing or building products, kits or components with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to prioritise workload, identify issues and proactively implement solutions.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing business demands.
  • Good computer literacy and confidence learning new systems.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Sage or similar would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with the ability to work independently.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
