Overall Purpose

The purpose of the role is to provide proactive support to the Corient Dealing and Treasury Services team (CDTS Team) across a range of duties, including trade inputting/execution, trade reporting, account opening, and client onboarding. This role is ideally suited to a dynamic and proactive individual wishing to develop their career in a rapidly growing financial services firm. As part of a high performing team, the successful candidate will be trained to deliver comprehensive support to the Dealing desk and ultimately to learn the broking role.

Working Relationships

The role reports to the senior trader within the Dealing team. The role will involve close and regular interaction with the entire CDTS Team, Family Office Relationship Managers, clients, and external counterparties across various jurisdictions. Maintaining effective communication across all business lines and having the ability to successfully foster internal and external relationships are essential components of this position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Dealing team with the day-to-day duties and responsibilities and assisting on queries relating to trades placed by the Dealing Desk.
  • Supporting the team with the placing of trades across a range of different asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, Commodities, Forex), via internal and external trading platforms, email, and telephone.
  • Supporting the team with trade bookings and reporting, and instructing corporate action elections.
  • Proactively review processes and work with the team to optimize and streamline departmental procedures to improve efficiencies and minimize risks.
  • Establishing and maintaining a good working knowledge of CDTS' internal platforms, encompassing trading, corporate actions, reporting, and client data management.
  • Generating reports and sourcing information for the team, as well as for internal and external clients.
  • Learning the key components of the account opening and client onboarding process and supporting the team throughout the new client life cycle (in regards to customer due diligence and risk screening requirements).
  • Keeping industry and market knowledge up to date to better service clients and advisors.
  • Facilitating effective communication between different internal departments and learning how to establish, nurture and maintain internal and external client relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate calibre preferred, although applications are welcome from candidates who have recently completed their A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • Post holder must hold or be willing to undertake relevant professional studies (e.g., ACI Dealing Certificate, CISI Level 4).
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
