CoreWeave is The Essential Cloud for AI. Built for pioneers by pioneers, CoreWeave delivers a platform of technology, tools, and teams that enables innovators to build and scale AI with confidence. Founded in 2017 and publicly traded (Nasdaq: CRWV) in March 2025, we combine superior infrastructure performance with deep technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs and turn compute into capability.
We are seeking a motivated and detailâoriented Design Engineer to support the technical design and coordination of CoreWeave's data centre white space (data hall) environments worldwide. Your work will focus on assisting Senior Engineers and external consultants in developing layouts and designs for server halls, containment, IT infrastructure, and their integration with mechanical and electrical systems provided by others. You will help ensure that white space designs align with CoreWeave standards, capacity requirements, and operational needs while supporting performance, efficiency, and scalability. Travel to UK and EU data centre sites is required.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and reviewing white space (data hall) layouts, including rack positions, containment, cold/hot aisle configurations, and IT infrastructure routes.
- Support Senior Engineers in coordinating white space requirements with mechanical and electrical design teams, ensuring IT loads, heat rejection needs, and power demands are clearly communicated.
- Help maintain alignment with CoreWeave design standards, Basis of Design (BoD) documents, and technical requirements for data hall design.
- Collaborate with data centre providers, architectural/engineering consultants, and contractors to integrate CoreWeave's white space design into base building M&E infrastructure.
- Coordinate with internal SMEs across mechanical, electrical, IT/LV, BMS, and operations to ensure the white space design meets capacity, resilience, and operational needs.
- Assist in managing technical queries related to data hall layouts, clearances, equipment arrangements, and coordination with plant areas.
- Support the application of CoreWeave white space and design guidelines to ensure consistency in data hall design across projects.
- Participate in design reviews, pageâturns, and coordination meetings, capturing comments specific to data hall layouts, access, maintenance routes, and integration with services.
- Help maintain logs of white space design deviations, submittals, RFIs, and change history throughout the project.
- Attend site visits in the UK/EU to observe how white space designs are implemented on the floor, checking rack layouts, containment installations, and equipment positioning against design intent.
- Assist in reviewing asâbuilt data hall layouts, test results, and commissioning outputs relevant to IT spaces.
- Support internal reporting on design status, risks, and milestones tied to data hall readiness and handover.
- Assist with reviewing OFCI (OwnerâFurnished, ContractorâInstalled) IT and white spaceârelated equipment, checking alignment with project requirements and layouts.
- Help evaluate consultant or vendor proposals for white space designârelated services and equipment as part of the selection process.
- Participate in internal design discussions, researching modern white space concepts such as highâdensity layouts, liquidâready arrangements, and phased deployment strategies.
- Provide input into improvements to CoreWeave's standard data hall design approach, templates, and tools.
- 1â3+ years of experience in building services, data centre, critical infrastructure, or technical building design (including internships or placement years).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, floor plans, and coordination layouts, especially related to plant spaces and IT/white space environments.
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar for layout and coordination work.
- Basic understanding of how mechanical and electrical systems interface with IT spaces (e.g., cooling distribution to white space, power pathways, cable containment).
- Strong technical documentation skills, including the ability to maintain markâups, schedules, and design registers.
- Experience supporting design work on data centres, telecom facilities, laboratories, hospitals, or other missionâcritical buildings.
- Knowledge of BMS concepts, LV/structured cabling, or IT room requirements.
- Exposure to coordinating between base building M&E teams and IT/white space users.
- Interest in pursuing professional accreditation (e.g., CIBSE, IET, IEng/CEng pathway, or relevant certifications like Uptime, BICSI, LEED).
