POSITION SUMMARY
Corero is looking for a talented and motivated principal grade network visualization engineer to lead its team developing network and security dashboards using primarily Grafana, and Splunk. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of leading a team, and own development, for the design and development of complex dashboards, involving conceptualizing new dashboards, identifying data sources, development of complex queries to select and manipulate data, and innovative visualization approaches.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include a mix of design, sub-project leadership, own development, and bug fix and field support. This will include mentorship and work specification for team members. The position will suit a self-driven principal developer with the drive and experience to design and develop solutions from first principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a small team developing our complex networking and security analytics.
- Development of new dashboards and features using Grafana in Kubernetes.
- Design and conceptualize new dashboards.
- Support the team working across Grafana, Splunk query language, Python.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar engineering discipline.
- Data analysis and dashboard development in Grafana.
- Experience of leading small development teams, in an agile environment.
- Working knowledge of Linux and AWS.
- Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills.
Desirable Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of internet network protocols and operation.
- Knowledge of Splunk and Splunk Query Language.
- Data manipulation using SQL or similar.
- Experience with network security products and solutions.
- HTML, CSS, Javascript experience.
- Data Science or Machine Learning skills.
Location
For candidates local to our central Edinburgh, UK office, we offer flexible working arrangements, with normally 2 days working in the office per week. This position can be fully remote for the right candidate.
