Planner/Schedulers required for new, permanent roles in Hebburn and Darlington. These are full-time roles, created to deliver all support functions in terms of planning and scheduling reactive and planned work streams.
The Role
Working for a construction business, you will be required to allocate teams to attend to emergency, reactive works and also pre-planned maintenance works as required. This needs to be done efficiently to ensure full utilisation of resources, taking into account all live streams of work and reducing unproductive time as much as possible. The role requires a constant review of outstanding jobs with a view to prioritising urgent ones and putting on hold ones that crews can drop onto if/when work is quiet. The provision of a first-class level of service is vital, balanced with commercially sensible decisions being made. Working to strict SLAs, you will screen incoming work orders to ensure they are complete and accurate before passing on to the relevant team. In addition to this, you will speak with customers to arrange access prior to the crew arriving to start the work and, upon completion, speak with the customer to make sure they are fully happy with the work done and taking payment where required.
Strong IT skills are required for this role as there are a number of portals and bespoke systems used multiple times daily. The working hours change weekly, there is a rolling shift pattern that will require you to be part of the out of hours rota, covering shifts on a weekend and evening (from home), this is usually once every five. This is rewarded by way of time off in lieu and a bonus of around £5,000 per year (£25k salary and £5k shift bonus).
The Person
Applications are welcome from experienced Schedulers/Planners but they are also welcome from applicants with a transferable skill set. Organisation and strong IT skills are essential, coupled with a good sense of humour and the ability to communicate well at all levels.
