Domestic Assistants – The role
You will work as part of a great team throughout the University Campuses and provide domestic assistant support to university events, departmental activities and help desk requests. The role is to be part of a team to assist with the effective delivery of domestic services across the University, undertaking a range of practical and operational duties, to maintain the University internal environment. We are a friendly team and due to the hours of the role may sometimes be the first friendly face a student or staff member sees who may need directions or signposting which makes the role a varied one. Professional development is available through ongoing training and support.

Domestic Assistants - The Team
Our Domestic Assistants represent the University at the highest level, as the cleanliness of the campus plays an important role in attracting our students when they are deciding which University they want to attend. Their work is often praised by our colleagues as they aim to achieve the highest standards possible. Our Domestic Assistants have the freedom to influence their work schedules to present the University in its best possible light, proudly supported by Senior Domestic Assistants and Unit Leaders to reach this ambition.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country. If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
