Here at Sheffield Hallam University we are looking to expand our team of inspirational Associate Lecturers who deliver high quality learning experiences with expertise gained through teaching, relevant industry experience or both. You may be asked to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and may also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments.
You will have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant from an academic and/or professional perspective in at least one of the following:
- Business Law
- Company and Employment Law
- Property and Construction law
Sheffield Business School has approximately 6,000 students and 200 academic staff. It has a long history dating back to the 1950s, before it was formally branded as the Sheffield Business School in 1986, which has since had significant success. The University currently enrols eligible academic staff into the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS), a defined-benefit pension scheme. Should you be enrolled into TPS, each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a salary of £42,000, for example, the University would pay just over £12,000 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £737 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
