If you are passionate about children's nursing, committed to educating the next generation of healthcare practitioners, and eager to contribute to high-quality patient and client care, The School of Health and Social Care would love to hear from you.
As part of one of the UK's largest providers of nursing, allied health professions, social work and social care education, you will be joining a dynamic and supportive community of academics, practitioners and researchers. Our school is committed to delivering high-quality, research-informed teaching that promotes active, collaborative learning.
In this role, you will become part of a team of academic practitioners who innovate, teach and support learners across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. While you will contribute specialist teaching for students in children's nursing, you will also play a key role in delivering interprofessional education across the wider School of Health and Social Care. You will support post-registration learners through our CPD portfolio, and you will have opportunities to contribute to research, scholarly activity, and project work.
You will need:
- The ability to design and deliver transformative, innovative, and inclusive learning experiences.
- Knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to children's nursing and the broader health and social care landscape.
- Experience of teaching, training, or supervising undergraduate/postgraduate nursing or other healthcare professionals in either practice or academic settings.
- Current NMC registration as a Children's Nurse and evidence of ongoing professional development.
As an Associate Lecturer, you will be expected to deliver engaging, evidence-based teaching that supports student learning and development, contributing to both face-to-face and online delivery where required. You will participate in module delivery and assessment, ensuring content remains current, research-informed, and aligned with public health priorities and industry expectations. You will join a collaborative and supportive team committed to delivering an outstanding student experience.
If you are offered this post, you will be subject to an enhanced with barred lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) - one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country. If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the TPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
