The Epidemic Diseases Clinical Research Group (ERGO), led by Professor Sir Peter Horby, Director of Oxford's Pandemic Sciences Institute, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Clinical Trial Manager to join its internationally recognised team. ERGO is a global leader in research on emerging infectious diseases, delivering clinical trials and other studies that help reduce the impact of epidemics and pandemics worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the PARTNERS trial, a major multi-country adaptive platform trial evaluating treatments for filovirus diseases across Africa. As Senior Clinical Trial Manager, you will lead the operational delivery of this complex international research programme, overseeing study start-up, regulatory approvals, site activation, governance, monitoring, and close-out activities.
Working with investigators, sponsors, regulators, funders, and international partners, you will ensure that trial sites and systems remain ready for rapid activation during outbreaks while driving preparedness activities between outbreak periods. You will be an experienced clinical trials professional with strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to manage complex international studies in fast-paced environments.
This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of global infectious disease research, collaborating with leading experts and international partners to generate evidence that can save lives during future outbreaks. You'll be part of a world-class team tackling some of the most pressing public health challenges of our time.
Due to the exceptional nature of the Ebola epidemic response research, flexibility is essential. Occasional evening and weekend working may be required during periods of outbreak activity or urgent trial delivery.
This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract until 31 October 2027 and is funded by FCDO and UKRI. Salary (£): Standard Grade 8: £49,119 - £58,265 with a discretionary range to £63,489 p.a. (pro rata). This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).
