Tenure – The post is available on a fixed term basis from 1 July 2026 until 29 February 2028. The University of Liverpool wishes to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support delivery of CLEAN-AIR: Child Learning Enhancement through Nature-Based Air Improvement Research. This interdisciplinary project is focused on improving air quality at school boundaries through nature-based interventions, high-resolution environmental monitoring, calibration and quality assurance workflows, and practical decision-support tools for schools, councils and delivery partners.
The postholder will contribute to field deployments and analysis across three Liverpool school sites, including dense air quality monitoring, reference co-locations, data processing, quality assurance, porosity monitoring of engineered plant screens, and preparation of evidence, protocols and outputs to support deployment, maintenance and wider adoption.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team spanning geography, engineering, public health and applied delivery partners, while developing a strong profile in research, publication, stakeholder engagement and impact. The School of Environmental Sciences is an Athena SWAN Silver Award holder.
