Senior Clinical Researcher in Primary Care Clinical Trials, Infectious Diseases and Pandemic Preparedness

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Researcher, to work with a team led by Prof Chris Butler in the Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit combining scientific development and leadership with active involvement in innovative trial delivery within Infectious Diseases and Pandemic Preparedness research.

The successful applicant will contribute to the design, delivery and development of multi-centre clinical trials in primary care and community settings, helping to advance innovative and impactful research. Responsibilities will include clinical leadership within the CTU, generating novel research questions and contributing to grant applications, protocol development, participant recruitment and safety oversight, collaboration with national and international partners, and dissemination of research findings.

You will be a medically qualified clinician with GMC registration (or eligibility), a PhD/DPhil or equivalent research experience, and experience in clinical research or clinical trials. You will have excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, a strong publication record, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Experience in infectious diseases, respiratory infections, antimicrobial resistance, clinical trials methodology or primary care research would be advantageous.

You will be based in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

The position is funded for two years in the first instance. It is offered full time, but part time will be considered after discussion with the Clinical Director.
